Real estate developer GID and Greenskies Clean Focus have completed a 130 kW rooftop solar system at Pavona Apartments in downtown San Jose, California.
Pavona Solar System Will Boost Resiliency and Cut Costs
The Installation of an on-site solar system at Pavona Apartments addresses California's ongoing energy issues including power shortages and rising energy prices by enhancing resiliency and providing reliable, low-cost and clean renewable energy.
130-kW Solar System to Power 25 Homes Annually
The 130-kW rooftop solar system is also projected to produce more than 180,000 kWh of clean energy each year which is enough to power 25 homes. Greenskies developed and financed the project for GID with no initial cost via a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). As the long-term owner and operator, Greenskies will handle ongoing maintenance ensuring the solar system's sustainability and efficiency for years.
“It’s been a pleasure working with GID to see this project through. Distributed generation solar provides a great opportunity for commercial property owners to realise additional value from their existing portfolio through significant energy cost savings and reduced carbon emissions,” said Stanley Chin, president and CEO of Greenskies.
GID Champions ESG and Community Improvement
GID has consistently championed sustainability by integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles and using its investment, development and management expertise to improve the communities where it invests, lives and operates.
"At GID we continue to value opportunities that support both our fiduciary responsibility and uphold our long-term environmental sustainability commitments. We’re thrilled to have partnered with Greenskies to increase our renewable energy production and are looking forward to measuring the impact going forward,” said Phil Carmody SVP, head of ESG at GID.
