Huasun, a Chinese solar technology company specialising in advanced heterojunction (HJT) solar cells and modules, has won two major contracts with Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina), amounting to 840 MWp of n-type HJT solar modules.
Huasun Boosts HJT Leadership with Key Solar Bids
The bids encompass a 500 MWp procurement for 2024 solar projects and a 339.68 MWp allocation for the Qinhuangdao Changli offshore photovoltaic pilot project in East China. Huasun has emerged as a formidable competitor in both, securing second place in the former and first place in the latter, reinforcing its position as a leader in the HJT sector.
The partnership between Huasun and PowerChina New Energy (a subsidiary of PowerChina), has evolved since 2022 when they first formalized their collaboration through a strategic framework agreement. This agreement laid the groundwork for their joint efforts in advancing renewable energy and technology. With these latest bids, Huasun continues to showcase its technological capabilities, product quality and competitive advantage in the vertical integration of ingots, wafers, cells and modules.
Huasun Powers China's Offshore PV Project with V-Ocean HJT Modules
The Qinhuangdao Changli offshore project underscores the rising significance of offshore photovoltaics, a crucial element in global energy transition efforts. This 300 MW offshore PV pilot project marks China's first large-scale solar initiative in the region, and it will also be the second project that Huasun has secured with PowerChina.
The project will cover an area of 279 hectares, presenting significant construction challenges. To meet these demands, Huasun will provide its cutting-edge V-Ocean HJT solar modules. These modules feature 210mm HJT cells, double-glass encapsulation and double-sided microcrystalline technology, ensuring high marine performance. As the world’s first certified offshore modules, V-Ocean’s resistance to salt mist, water vapour and UV radiation guarantees the project’s reliability, while advancing offshore PV development in China.
Huasun and PowerChina Strengthen Partnership with Solar Deal
PowerChina New Energy, a major subsidiary of PowerChina, has been a driving force behind high-quality growth in the new energy sector, supporting sustainable development in both China and globally. In 2022, Huasun and PowerChina New Energy formalized their first collaboration with a strategic framework agreement, setting the stage for joint efforts in renewable energy development and technological innovation.
Huasun’s HJT solar modules have demonstrated their versatility and reliability across various applications, including mountainous, agrivoltaic and offshore PV projects, cementing the company’s leadership in the HJT sector. Recent successes in PowerChina’s bids further emphasize the quality of Huasun’s products and services, strengthening the enduring partnership between the two companies.
