Jakson & OMC Power Partner for 50 MW Solar Rooftop Project

Jakson Group, a prominent Energy and Infrastructure solutions leader, has partnered with OMC Power, Uttar Pradesh's rapidly expanding energy transition company to implement a 50 MW solar rooftop project.

₹200 Cr Solar Rooftop Project to Transform Uttar Pradesh

This groundbreaking ₹200 crore initiative ranks among India’s largest single solar rooftop projects. It aims to foster clean energy adoption across all 75 Uttar Pradesh districts, thereby contributing substantially to environmental sustainability.

Mr Sameer Gupta, CMD, Jakson Group, stated: “As a key player in one of India’s largest Solar Rooftop projects, we at Jakson are honoured to contribute our expertise to this landmark initiative. Our partnership with OMC Power solidified our dedication to providing cutting-edge solar energy solutions. Together, we strive to establish new standards of excellence within the renewable energy sector.”

Solar Rooftop Project to Cut 62,500 Tonnes of CO2 Annually

The project is expected to cut 62,500 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, equivalent to planting 2.5 million trees. Jakson Group will lead the implementation of the solar rooftop systems, advancing the state's shift to renewable energy. The partnership was formalized in the presence of Mr. Sameer Gupta, Chairman and MD of Jakson Group and Mr. Rohit Chandra, MD and CEO of OMC Power.

Mr. Rohit Chandra, MD & CEO, OMC Power, expressed: “This partnership between OMC Power and Jakson Group marks a significant step in Uttar Pradesh’s journey towards sustainable development and energy independence. By advancing solar power adoption across the state, we are reducing carbon emissions, promoting energy savings and strengthening local infrastructure. Together, we’re driving meaningful changes in energy transitions, and turning the promise of renewable energy into impactful solutions.”

Jakson Green Advances Clean Energy with Major Projects

The project aims to set new benchmarks in clean energy adoption and serve as a model for future large-scale renewable initiatives across India. In November 2024, Jakson Green dispatched its first batch of 3.8 MW indigenously manufactured electrolysers to support green hydrogen refuelling stations for urban mobility in the National Capital Region.

Earlier, in October 2024, Jakson Green secured 50 MW in Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited's 200 MW grid-connected wind power auction under Phase VIII, with a 25-year power purchase agreement at a tariff of ₹3.63 per kWh.
