Renewable Properties Expands Assets With 50MW Solar Projects

Renewable Properties has grown its solar project portfolio by completing 50 MW of installations in four states. The milestone reinforces the company’s commitment to small-scale utility and community solar developments. The projects include traditional community solar, low-income community solar and utility-scale installations.

Major Solar Project Expansions Across the U.S.

Five community solar projects in New York contributed over 18 MW to this expansion. The projects in Batavia and the Village of Minoa were completed in July. Meanwhile, the Slayton Settlement Road Solar A & B projects in Lockport added a unique agrivoltaic approach to the portfolio. These projects integrate sheep farming for vegetation management and feature a dedicated beekeeping area.

Three projects in California located in Chowchilla and El Nido added nearly 15 MW to the portfolio. These installations are part of the Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) Disadvantaged Communities Green Tariff (DAC-GT) programme. Through this initiative, low-income households receive power from these projects along with a 20% bill credit.

Maine saw three community solar projects come online in 2024, contributing over 11 MW. The Manchester project was completed in July, Winslow in August and Bangor in November. North Carolina added a 6.62-MW project in Gibson, completed in November. This project participates in the state’s qualifying facility programme, which supports independent power generation.

Economic and Environmental Benefits for Local Communities

The Slayton sites also enhance pollinator habitats with a specialised seed mix. This approach benefits honeybees while improving grazing conditions for sheep. These dual-use projects maintain the region’s agricultural output, ensuring that honey, wool and lamb meat production continues. This initiative allows a third-generation organic dairy farm to remain within the family.

Aaron Halimi, founder and CEO of Renewable Properties, stated: “These projects exemplify how we accomplish that mission, with a majority of them being community solar projects bringing communities a host of benefits, such as energy bill savings, local jobs, increased revenue and local environmental benefits.”

Future Expansion and Renewable Energy Initiatives

Renewable Properties specialises in small-scale utility and community solar projects. The company also invests in energy storage and EV infrastructure projects across the United States. With operations in 15 states, Renewable Properties has over 1 GW of solar, energy storage, and EV infrastructure under development. The company currently manages over 155 MW of projects either in operation or under construction.

Renewable Properties works closely with developers, landowners, utilities and financial institutions to advance solar energy systems. Its focus remains on expanding access to clean energy while delivering financial and environmental benefits to communities.

Renewable Properties is building new electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs for last-mile delivery fleets in the San Francisco Bay Area. The company has 235 MW of solar projects currently in operation or under construction across 51 sites.

For 2025, the company expects to complete another 90 MW from its 1.2-GW development pipeline. This pipeline includes solar, energy storage and EV infrastructure projects. Renewable Properties continues to push forward with its renewable energy initiatives, reinforcing its role in the clean energy transition.

The latest 50 MW expansion strengthens Renewable Properties’ role in community solar development. These projects do not only provide clean energy but also create economic and environmental benefits. As the company continues its expansion, it remains committed to driving the growth of solar projects across the United States.
