RZK Energia and Matrix Team Up for 38MWp Solar Power Plants

Brazilian power company RZK Energia has announced its first partnership with Matrix Energia to develop approximately 38 MWp of distributed generation (DG) solar power plants.

RZK Energia and Matrix Energia Partner on R$140 Million Solar Project


RZK Energia and Matrix Energia have entered into an agreement involving R$140 million in investments. This deal will fund the construction of 11 solar photovoltaic plants, with a combined capacity of 38 MWp across various states in the distributed generation (DG) sector. According to RZK, this agreement marks the first collaboration between the two companies advancing the shift toward renewable energy and opening up new possibilities for the national energy market.

RZK Energia Aims to Double Capacity by 2024


Capitalizing on the sector's positive momentum, RZK Energia has been actively engaged in the market focusing on distributed generation, energy trading and efficient management. Currently, RZK Energia manages 130 MWp of capacity and is highly optimistic about the future with plans to double its results from the previous year by 2024. To date, the company has secured 11 contracts with Matrix Energia, thereby accounting for 30% of its total investment of R$470 million for 2024.

Focusing on the entire electricity chain, the company utilizes various energy sources including solar, biogas, biomass and other renewables. Operating across several Brazilian states—São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso, Goiás, Distrito Federal and Rio de Janeiro—RZK Energia serves major clients. In 2023, the company experienced significant growth with the addition of 11 new plants, bringing its total portfolio to 20.

RZK Energia's Commitment to Sustainable Energy


RZK Energia specializes in energy generation, marketing and management. The company is at the forefront of the energy transition, staying current with regulatory and technological advancements and employing innovative, efficient practices. It operates projects across several Brazilian states—including São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Mato Grosso, Goiás, Distrito Federal, and Rio de Janeiro—and manages the largest distributed generation plant in Brazil, located in Nova Iguaçu.

The company manages 28 renewable energy projects, including 23 photovoltaic and 5 biogas-based primarily serving large businesses.
